“Then the damosel went unto La Beale Isoud, and bare her letters from the king and from Sir Launcelot, whereof she was in passing great joy …” Artwork by William Russell Flint
My first aesthetic for @ Arthurian fandom! I’m reading Le Morte Darthur of Thomas Malory and I can’t wait for reading Once and Future King of T.A. White!
Sophie Turner as Ginevra | Guinevere | Gwenhwyfar (I’d already seen her as PV for Guinevere, but I can’t remember where, sorry)
“In her blissful bower on bed of silver softly slept she [Guinevere] on silken pillows with long hair loosened, lighty breathing,… in fragrant dreams fearless wandering, of pity and repentance no pain feeling, in the courts of Camelot queen and peerless, queen unguarded.” (JRR Tolkien- The Fall of Arthur)
Just a reminder–we currently have on display an exhibit of handwritten and handmade materials. Come check out these marvels of penmanship and artistry!
The exhibit will be open for one more month–we look forward to seeing you! In the meantime, check out this manuscript which beautifully details the heraldry of the court of King Arthur.

I’m a little behind in posting (the scanner’s a bit awkward to get to, nowadays) but I’ve been getting them done on time!
Here are the versions of Cai and Arthur I’ve been playing about with. Cai is an elf or half-elf, hence the pointy ears.
I wish I’d known there would be an official Inktober prompt list earlier, I might have gone with a different plan, but I’ve tried to incorporate it anyways. Tried to get a sense of speed with Cai, I think it was partially successful.
Referenced from my own photos. It’s an alright drawing, I think. His face is a bit weird. And his sword. That was not referenced properly ha.
Arthur could have done with more movement, to give the impression of a more powerful shout, to go with the “noisy” prompt. His face and sword are also weird! And I didn’t use any reference, which I perhaps should have. But he doesn’t look too bad.
The rest of their names will be written in when I find my calligraphy pens…
I’ve got the first half of the prologue for Princess Arthur translated into English on my blog. I’ll have the second half uploaded within the next day or two. Enjoy~

“I guess I was asking for it by doing nothing but choosing to continue to fight here.
…
Maybe… Maybe if I hadn’t been the one to pull out the sword then, this would have never come to pass. Don’t you agree?
Excalibur, my friend… Please…answer……”
