Sir Kay

The goat head stays

This is all in the Arthuriana AU I’ve made in my head

I guess I wanted to keep his design as the ‘enchanter knight’ type character that he is in earlier literature.  But, instead of a visual reference to Merlyn and his kind of natural, earthly magic, Kay has to rely on objects and spells and dark rituals to be able to use magic because it doesn’t come naturally to him.

Kay is unpleasant to everyone but Arthur, and in this AU has somewhat of a ‘rivalry’ with Lancelot, as Lancelot disapproves of his profane magic.  Of course, Lancelot is a much better and capable knight than Kay, who relies on his longbow and spells and only dons armor when absolutely necessary

The reason I despise Galahad is because I don’t think his actions in Malory are that of a good man. He invited the Knights of the Round Table onto a quest that he knew would kill most of them to find an object that was AT HIS HOUSE. He a darkly fascinating character: he’s spent most of his childhood praying for Lancelot’s soul (which can’t be good for his psyche!), and he’s been raised to be sacrificial lamb by Nacien.

2/2 (An extremely spiritual chalice that gives you unending food? Yup, it’s the Cauldron of Regeneration, all right!)

I think the beauty of arthuriana is that there are so many themes and characters that everyone can find something they do and don’t like! I understand what you mean!

I personally really enjoy the character, but of course my interpretation of it might be wildly different (being so young, for me it’s more about people manipulating him /leading him to that grail point and him truly believing that he’s doing good).

this has probably already been done but still

I LIVE FOR THIS KIND OF CONTENT

Ok, not to be a ass but galahad literally left the protagonist and mashu to die and refuse to save humanity. Mordred had been nothing but loyal and she would glady die for her master, no questions asked.

Wait… who is the protagonist? King Arthur?

This is an arthurian post
