The Legend of King Arthur Episode 6
Galahad arrives in Camelot, alongside his old mentor Naciens. After sitting on the dangerous Perilous Seat, the Grail appears in front of all the knights. Naciens explains what the Holy Grail is and that only one knight would be able to drink from it, before leaving Camelot and leaving Galahad in Lancelot’s care. Immediately, Bors, Gawain, Lancelot and Galahad ask Arthur to be sent to look for the Grail.
With Lancelot away from Camelot, Morgan decides to start acting even if Mordred is doubtful and feels like they have wasted too much time away. Morgan reassures him that she already planted the seed of doubt in Arthur’s mind, and now that Lancelot can’t defend himself, Morgan will see it grow. And it is an easy task for them, with Mordred so close to Guinevere, often playing chess or games with her, and Morgan so close to Arthur.
In the meantime, Galahad got separated from the other knights, looking for the Grail. He finds a powerful sword when a knight suddenly crumbles to dust after finding out that he is called Galahad. Lancelot and Gawain arrive to the Wasteland of Pelles. The old man tells Lancelot that Elaine died in childbirth but he doesn’t know where the child is now. Suddenly, a group of ladies enter the room, bringing a covered cup with them. Gawain doesn’t follow them, as he doesn’t feel worthy, while Lancelot tries to look at the Grail, but is blinded and falls sick. Bors arrives as well, a little later, and he also sees the maiden bringing the Grail. But this time, the women stop in front of a door, welcoming Galahad and Nanciens. Galahad uncovers the Grail without consequences, and drinks from it. Free from the burden of teaching Galahad, Nancien dies, while Galahad heals King Pelles and Lancelot with a simple touch. Declaring that now he has ended his task, Galahad drinks again from the Grail before falling to his knees to the ground, and diying.
Lancelot, Bors and Gawain return to Camelot, but Lancelot is plagued with sadness, wondering what is his purpose. When Guinevere’s servant tells him to attend the queen in her chambers, Lancelot readily agrees even against Bors’ advice. In her chambers, Guinevere confesses to Lancelot that if he had asked for her hand, back all those years, he would have won it. While the two are talking, Agravaine forcefully enters in the room, clearly meaning to accuse Lancelot and Guinevere of adultery and using the fact that they were together as proof.
The Legend of King Arthur Episode 2
Arthur, now a successful cowerer and king, managed to unify the kingdom, but he sometimes talks of his sister Morgan, whom he has never met. Merlin decides to find Morgan again and instead of finding her in the convent, he finds her in a little house, in the woods. He asks her to go to Arthur’s side and help him as Merlin helped him.
Later on, Arthur is welcoming his new allies: Lot, Lancelot and Bors. Only Accolon refuses to offer Arthur his alliance. Mercifully, Arthur lets Accolon go. Doubtful, Arthur asks for Merlin’s advice, knowing that he does want to be merciful and just, but that doing so he put his own life and country in peril because of Accolon. While talking with Merlin, Arthur comes up with the idea of the Round Table, to have all the knights feel equal. Arthur also asks him about his future wife, as he is enamoured with Guinevere. Merlin seems worried about Guinevere and tries to convince Arthur of finding a new lady, but he knows he can’t change the course of events.
Arthur sends Lancelot to go to meet Guinevere and ask her to go to court and marry the king. Guinevere is immediately taken by Lancelot, but soon she realises that he is there for another. Leodegrance is more than happy to see her married with King Arthur, and Guinevere, dutifully, accepts Arthur’s proposal.
At Arthur and Guinevere’s marriage, Lancelot offers himself to Guinevere as her champion to do everything she might ask of him, while Merlin observes, with a sorrowful expression on his face. The next day, Bors and Arthur go out hunting but they are soon lost in the woods. There they meet Morgan’s assistant and servant, who lead them to Morgan’s house. Morgan, dressed now as a nun, pretends to be surprised to see her lost brother and the two has a tearful reunion. Inviting her brother for some food, she asks him to leave his sword behind. Once without Excalibur, Morgan poisons Arthur and Bors, who wakes up later on, outside the house and without their swords and remembering nothing of what happened. In the meantime, Accolon also found Morgan in the forest, and she decided to give him Excalibur and recruit him to her cause. Strong of his new sword, Accolon returns to Camelot, followed by Morgan, and challenges Arthur to a duel. Even without Excalibur, Arthur is strong enough to take his own sword back, before killing Accolon. While he is distracted by his win, Morgan quickly steals the magic scabbard. Once Arthur has recovered from the duel, Merlin asks him to let him to to Avalon, to rest and sleep, as he cannot die and he is weary of life.
While the lady of the lake is taking Merlin to Arthur, Morgan walks to the lake to show him the scabbard. Mocking him, Morgan throws the scabbard in the lake and Merlin can only watch in despair.
The trial of Guinevere
Bors confirmed best character of the tv show. Lancelot, not so much.

Roger Lancelot Green’s King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table
Which would you say are the best Arthurina (movies/tv series) if I’m looking for Merlin characterization?
Hello! I am answering not privately so that people can add their recs, as I am not the best to rec good Merlin characterizations (I am not a big Merlin fan). Still, these are the ones I liked!
Movies with an interesting Merlin characterization (In bold the ones that I particularly enjoyed and that were nice movies):
- Arthur and Merlin (2015) – Merlin is actually one of the two main characters.
- Avalon High (2010) – Interesting teen Merlin in high school, side character
- Merlin and the Book of Beasts (2009) – The usual wizard Merlin helps… Arthur’s daughter rise to power
- Merlin and the War of Dragons (2009) – a weird (not good) movie, but the bit with Nimue and Vivian is very interesting, I loved it. Also, Merlin is the main character
- The Excalibur Kid (1999) – this is one of my fav movies among the ridiculous low budget ones. Loved it, and Merlin is pretty funny.
- Merlin and the Sword (1985): This movie has everything! And the Merlin – Nimue love story too.
- Excalibur (1981): This is a classic of arthurian movies. Not one of mu favourite ones, but it is regarded as one of the best. Merlin is the best character of the movie, inmho.
Tv shows and miniseries with an interesting Merlin characterization (in bold my fav among these ones!):
- Merlin (1998), this is one of the most popular miniseries and Merlin is the main character. I am not an enormous fan of it, but it is very well regarded.
- Camelot (2011): this series has so many problems, but Morgana and Merlin alone make it worth it.
- Merlin bbc: I don’t think this need an introduction!
