ok this anime actually gave us a full flashback to Saber’s time as king, something that friggen fate zero completely failed to do when it cut lancelot’s flashback, so if for nothing else im really happy about that.
Most of this is really good stuff, they even kept in how Mordred originally wanted to serve Arthur and only became obsessed with vengeance once denied parental love. Sadly the scene between Mordred and Guinevere was cut, once again denying fate gwen a chance to have a design.
the one thing i would complain about is that they cut most of the conversation between saber and mordred, the stuff that actually gives weight to Mordred’s grudge.
in the anime saber’s line is missing and the tone is kind of rushed and awkward because we go from Mordred being “I’m King Arthur’s son!? :D” to ARTHURRRRRR in like, less then two minutes.
