This was my Day 5 of Inktober, with which I was thoroughly unhappy. Afterwards, I dropped the ball for three days
– too busy shopping, cooking and entertaining people.
I really wanted to draw a nice picture of Morgause and little Mordred, but it turned out meh. I don’t know what it is, Morgause is just really difficult for me :p. Must have another (better) go…
This costume was first seen in the 2001 production of The Mists of Avalon, where it was worn on
Joan Allen as Morgause. It was used again two years later in the 2003 production of The Lion in Winter, where it was worn on Glenn Close as Eleanor of Aquitaine.Costume Credit: f2473627

Hi! I hope I’m not bothering you (and I’m sorry if I am), but I was reading your sympathetic Morgana & Mordred list and for some reason I started wondering, are there any Arthurian tv/movie adapatations with a sympathetic (villain or not) Morgause? Or, heck, are there even any tv/movie adaptations that have Morgause instead of Morgana, or even Morgause and Morgana together? If you know any, could you please make a list of those? Thank you!

I’m posting the list, even if it’s a depressingly short!
Movies/Tv shows where there’s Morgause instead of Morgana, or where is the main villain in general:
- “Excalibur Kid” is an amazingly fun movie where Morgause is a Arthur’s sister and the villain, but never too clichey, she is kind of fun, as she is a teenager girl who decides to put a random kid in Arthur’s place, to manipulate him.
- “Kaamelott” tv show. Morgause appears (named Anna) during the last seasons (last two if I am not wrong, or just the last one). She is Arthur’s half sister and his enemy. While Morgana is not a villain and appears a couple of episodes only. Also, there will soon be a movie.
Morgana and Morgause working together:
- “The Mists of Avalon”, where Morgause is definitely the villain, opposed to a more sympathtic Morgana
- “Merlin” BBC tv show
Sadly, I can’t remember of any other shows/movies. Technically, Morgana in Camelot Starz would be Morgause (married to Lot), so I’ll add this as well.
