Mists of Avalon (2001, Uli Edel) The legend of King Arthur from the point of view of Morgan le Fay.  Here she’s a loving supportive sister, but now she has two scheming aunts.  Kind of two steps forward, one step back for mythological women.

It was made for TNT but you still get to see Guinevere’s butt.

I’ve seen these made for so many fandoms so I tought that arthuriana needed them too!

(this is part ½, part 2 is here)

perplexingly basically did everything! from fonts and resizing and colors to animated gif (because I am useless at them) and she helped with ideas and all the stuff so I wanted to thank her because this is basically her work!

(also in case you were wondering who the first two tumblr owners were: Guinevere and Morgana)

Arthurian Characters’ Posters: The Family of Orkney: Morgause, Gawain, Agravaine, Gaheris, Gareth, Mordred, Clarissant, Soredamor

Explanation: meanwhile Gawain, Agravaine, Gaheris, Gareth and Mordred are always reported such as children of Queen Morgause of Orkney (even if the names of Gaheris and Gareth are reported in their English form only in Thomas Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur), Clarissant and Soredamor appeared only in few versions. Clarissant appeared in Chretien de Troyes’ Perceval ou Le cont du Graal, and Soredamor in another work of Chretien de Troyes, a poem entitled Cliges. (Soredamor, according with this poem, means “fair by love”, where “fair” stayed for an ancient French adjective that indicated blonde or red hair, so my translation is terribly inaccurate, sorry). Sometimes Chretien de Troyes described Agravaine as “proud” and Clarissant as “wise”, but these adjectives aren’t their nickname. On the other side, according to Malory,  “The Maiden’s Knight” is a sort of “title” for Gawain, and so “the Kitchen’s Knight” for Gareth.
