King Uther Pendragon, King of sub Britain, father of King Arthur was at war for many years with the Duke of Cornwall, Gorlois. At some point in time they decided to put their differences aside and try for a peace union.
During celebrations Uther notices a beautiful woman named Igraine. Uther wanted her but she did not want Uther.
Igraine was faithful to her husband Gorlois, the Duke of Cornwall.
She informed her husband of Uthers advances and they left the court celebrations without informing anyone. Uther was upset and suffering for heartache for Igraine that he went back to war with Cornwall.
Uther’s condition was getting worse and his men set out to find Merlin.
Once Merlin arrived Uther told him what he most desired to end this war. Merlin offered a deal saying he will give Uther what he wants if he will give the child that is born from that union to him. Uther agreed.
Merlin disguised Uther to look like Duke Gorlois.
During battle the real Gorlois died and Uther in his disguise sneaked into Tintagel castle where Igraine was hiding.
That night Uther took Igraine to bed. Tricking her into thinking she was sleeping with her husband. Through this union King Arthur was born.
