fuckyeaharthuriana:

A video I made to celebrate the 4 years of fuckyeaharthuriana! Arthurian villains everywhere!
I had a wonderful time here on tumblr in these past 4 years, it has been incredibly enjoying, entertaining, inspiring and I learnt so much about arthuriana while meeting some truly kind and talented people! I want to thank you all for following and hopefully we’ll have some more wonderful years together (plus more novels and Guy Ritchie’s movies, yay!).
Thank you!

The tv shows/movies I used are (in order of appearance): Merlin BBC, Merlin 1998, Mists of Avalon, Sword of Lancelot, Merlin and the Book of Beasts, MacGyver, Guinevere (1998), Arthur’s Quest, Camelot (musical, 1981), Excalibur.

(Sorry, awful video because I only had a free afternoon free from my studies -and shh also because I am not that good at videos-! The birthday would actually be the 8th of August but I decided to post this now or else I would have kept modifying it and I should really study!)

This video is 4 years old, but it’s also the only arthurian video I’ve ever made

The Kid Who Would Be King trailer

From the makers of Attack the Block, though this seems more firmly aimed at kids this time.

Yay for the references to Tintagel (a place in Cornwall that’s supposedly the birthplace of Arthur, they have a statue of him there) and a tower which looks like Glastonbury (either the site of his burial or Camelot, depending on who you ask).

GUYS!!! GUYS!!

Friendly reminder that in the Sofia the First Universe, Merlin is still the greatest sorcerer of all time.

Cedric is still an evil sorcerer (or he was until Sofia came along) but he worships the ground Merlin walks on.

Merlin still vanquished Morgana (but SPOILER ALERT she comes back)

Merlin is also daft as a brush, likes to teach magic and he sings.

He sings.

Now I very much like to imagine that most of this is Canon in the BBC Merlin Universe.

Also, please notice the giant excalibur statue

One last post before I sleep, I promise–

I. Love. Bedi’s ballad thing that he sings at around the 3:50 mark.

Unfortunately, I know about .02% of Japanese so I can’t exactly understand what he’s singing;; I do recognize ‘hikari’, which is light (the bilibili video has the kanji for ‘light’ in its hardcoded JP sub), and I think he said ‘yoru’ which I think means ‘night’?

Buuut translation struggles aside, I just really like his ballad. From the tone itself, it’s mournful and I like the actor’s voice. I don’t think this is his normal range to sing in, which makes it even cooler, I think.

Anyways, I’ll bet that I’m making 0 sense and I should get some sleep—-

Mordred webseries and movie

galahadmordred:

Once upon a time (2013?) there was a Mordred webseries (in French and with English subtitles). The webseries was truly amazing and, as far as I know, it had been turned into a movie.

The first season has become

Mordred L’Elu

while the second season is

Mordred La Revolte

The project was supposed to be three seasons (3 movies), but it has ended with season 2 because of budgetary issues. Still, you might find a summary of what could have been season 3 on the Facebook Page with the scripts of 6 episodes uploaded on googledrive. There is also a book which describes what happened to the main characters between season 1 and season 2.
