Why do I set out this wintry way? Yuletide last, a year ago, yet it seems like yesterday. Wealth and well being of all the world were mine. Rich revel, royal merriment, the noblest nights beneath God’s heaven, the loveliest Ladies that ever lived. Fairest folk in our first youth on earth. The comeliest King was ever crowned.

There’s a lot of flashbacks before Gawain gets to Bertilak’s castle. The party looks great and I like the tapestries.

I thought it was funny that Gawain takes the chicken foot out of his soup. What an ungrateful guest! If he treated his hair better, he ought to have used some bread to sop up some soup.
