waluuanius:

Ferryman: Green, you say? It is chapel you seek.
Gawain: The name is Green Chapel and northwards. That is all I know.
Ferryman: Your voice against the devil, that?
The church or chapel should be grey. Green though? Do you know where the grass may be or the graveyard?

They captured the environment well in this movie, following Gawain’s way through strange parts of the northern country. I didn’t screencap this: there’s a scene where Gawain gets his armor repaired and the blacksmith doesn’t speak The King’s English, so the apprentice kid interprets.

Green Knight: I pass in peace. Look Lord and Ladies, I’m fitted out more friendly than for fighting. I come to your court, if it please you, to play. I crave of you Sirs, a Christmas Game!

The Green Knight’s costume is really good, though they only colored his eyes red for a few seconds at Arthur’s court.

Gawain: Five are fingers. Five are faculties. Five. Christ’s wounds on the cruel cross. Five. My points of perfection, here. My code demands of me compassion, courtesy, loving-kindness, openness, integrity, with all on earth alike. In these, be blemishless.

I love Mary on Gawain’s shield, but how could they leave out her Five Joys!
