waluuanius:

Gawain: That lie has lessened me.
Green Knight: I give you it. Golden and green, Sir, as the garb I wear. In courtly company, when proud in your prowess, be mindful how here I have invested you with image of your own imperfectness. Then humble your heart.
Bertilak: Hahaha! Now, home to my house and finish our feasting!
Gawain: I thank you for this good gift, Sir, and I must be gone.
Bertilak: Our enmity is at an end, Sir. I entreat you, make merry in my house. Away with you then, to your own world. I wish you well.

I especially like that first cap wherein the Green Knight starts transforming into Bertilak because he looks like he’s wilting.

waluuanius:

Gawain: (My journey is to judgment surely. Solve my soul: my mighty and my meanest deeds. Deeds left undone I should have done. Truths not told. May the master here be ever merry, and the Lady find love. So readily would I repay you all and richly, had I but life to live.)

Guide: Splendid speech, Sir. Have your helmet for your head. Lose your life if that’s what you want. I’ll not stop you. I’ll step with you not one foot further for all the wealth of the world. I’ve put you on the path. Down the ravine there, when you reach the river, look a little to your left, and heaven help you.

Gawain: The cursedest church I ever came across. Death and the Devil do devotions here.
