“But he doesn’t even have the style and panache of a king! Look at me, I have a cool helmet and colourful cloak – I have all the makings of a great ruler!”

“In our day, we thought that the bards would sing of us for generations
to come, but we did not believe it. But in fact Arthur now occupies a
higher throne than he ever did when he was alive. The fragments of all
our lives have been put together to form legend. Camelot has become the
nursery of Britain: the glorious past that never was and always will
be.”

favorite arthurian movies/series. A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court 1989
Guinevere: Is there anything wrong?
Karen: Yes, there’s something wrong. We need a girl to girl talk. And fast.My favorite Connecticut Yankee movie as the main character is absolutely adorable and the movie has some wonderful moments like Guinevere dancing old 80s music, saying “okie dokie” and learning martial arts.

The Story of King Arthur and His Knights + modern aesthetic
For he wist not what he had done in drawing out that sword from the anvil, nor did he know of what great things should arise from that little thing, for so it is in this world that a man sometimes approves himself to be worthy of such a great trust as that, and yet, in lowliness of spirit, he is yet altogether unaware that he is worthy thereof. And so it was with young Arthur at that time.

→ historical places: Glastonbury Tor
Glastonbury Tor is a hill at Glastonbury in the English county of Somerset, topped by the roofless St Michael’s Tower. The conical hill of clay and Blue Lias rises from the Somerset Levels. It was formed when surrounding softer deposits were eroded, leaving the hard cap of sandstone
exposed. The slopes of the hill are terraced, but the method by which
they were formed remains unexplained. Artifacts from human visitation
have been found, dating from the Iron Age to Roman eras. Several buildings were constructed on the summit during the Saxon and early medieval periods; they have been interpreted as an early church and monks’ hermitage. The head of a wheel cross
dating from the 10th or 11th century has been recovered. The original
wooden church was destroyed by an earthquake in 1275, and the stone
Church of St Michael built on the site in the 14th century. Its tower
remains, although it has been restored and partially rebuilt several
times. The Tor is mentioned in Celtic mythology, particularly in myths linked to King Arthur, and has a number of other enduring mythological and spiritual associations. X
