Look what I ran into at the thrift store. Was tempted to buy it, but I had already seen it online. Will probably go back tomorrow just to add my list of owned movies. While not a great movie it does do an okay job at imagining Arthur as an ancient Celt solider. Plus this version of Excalibur is one of my favorites. Very pretty with its design and runes.

characters : Lady of Shalott

Elaine of Astolat was a heroine of arthurian myth as well as poem by lord Tennyson, and later – various preraphaelitan artwork. Shalott’s escape from her tower is often seen as an act of defiance, a symbol of female empowerment.  

The Lady of Shalott lived in an island castle on a river which near Camelot. She suffered from a mysterious curse and had to continually weave images on her loom without ever looking directly out at the world. Instead, she was looking into a mirror, reflecting the busy road leading to Camelot. One day she saw a reflection of handsome knight – sir Lancelot. She left her tower, found a boat and wrote her name on it. Without thinking twice, she was ready to leave her prison. However, due to the curse she become weaker the further she was from her tower.
The boat with Elaine floated down the river to Camelot. She died before arriving at the palace. Among the knights and ladies who saw her was Lancelot. Lady of
